据悉，这是奥运会历史上的第一次无人机灯光秀，而这也都来自此前亮相“超级碗”的英特尔的无人机Shooting Star?。

在开幕式中，让人觉得眼前一亮的莫过于1218架无人机同时点亮，在天空中塑造成一个单板滑雪的人形，5位单板滑雪和100位双板滑雪选手寻着无人机的灯光开始滑翔，从平昌雪山上翩然而下，而1218架无人机在天空组成硕大的五环。

据悉，这是奥运会历史上的第一次无人机灯光秀，而这也都来自此前亮相“超级碗”的英特尔的无人机Shooting Star™,该款无人机是专为娱乐体验而设计的一款无人飞行器（UAV），配备了LED灯，能够为动画图案创造无数的颜色组合并轻松编程。事实上，这一组无人机只需由一名“飞手”来控制，并没有想象中那么多复杂的技术——提前编程即可。英特尔的Shooting Star™中每架无人机的路径都是由配套的桌面软件预设的，所有无人机各自执行各自的任务。

从创意方面，韩国并不是首次用无人机灯光秀开场的国家，但是冬奥会开幕式上的灯光秀超越了2016年英特尔在德国创下的同时放飞500架无人机世界记录。同时，从2015年同时放飞的 100 架无人机，到2016年的500 架，再到如今超过1000架，表明无人机灯光秀技术再次突破极限。
