      Q1.来自20100316NA Your friend wants to improve his grade in a class. What is some advice you would give to help him improve his grade?



      There are two easy ways to improve your grade. The first is to make sure you participate in class. The more active you are in class, the more likely the teacher will notice you. Then when the teacher is grading, he or she will remember your positive contribution to class and give you a few extra points. A few extra points here and there can actually help improve your grade a lot. Another way to improve your grade is to make sure you review every day. This means that every evening, you take about five or ten minutes to review the notes from that day’s class. By reviewing your notes daily, you will improve your understanding and memory of class material and this will reflect in your test scores.



      Q2.来自20110415NA Some people play games for fun while other people play games to win. Which do you prefer? Give details and examples to support your response.



      I like playing for fun, but I also don’t mind winning. Mainly I play sports because I like to challenge myself. If I run a race, I like to try and win, but if I don’t win, I am happy if I do my best. When I first started running, I used to take it very seriously and I would get really upset if I lost. Then I realized that I really didn’t enjoy that and I started worrying a lot when I was running, even if it wasn’t during a race! I decided that this was not healthy and that I needed to run because I enjoyed it. I learned to run a race and lose, but still finish with a smile on my face. I had some teammates that thought winning was always the most important thing, and now they don’t even run, because it is not fun for them anymore.

      College directory has all the contact information of students. Two improvements of the directory:



      1. Add photos of students;



      2. Put the directory on the Internet

      2. Some students can’t find the directory. It is easy for students to find these information if there are electronic version of the directory available online.

      阅读材料:讲公众效应,一个人如果犯错误了,你只对她自己说是没有用的,你要找做得比她好的人当众表扬,这样会引起他的注意反而能改进他的行为。



      听力材料:教授举例:让小朋友们玩积木时,要求小孩儿玩完积木之后要放好,结果有一次,小朋友Sarah玩儿完之后没有放好积木,老师没有只是批评sarah,老师表扬另外一个小朋友放得特别好的小朋友,然后 Sarah看到后就自觉摆好了积木。



      第四题解析:同学们在回答这道题的时候,一定要注意能用例子说明阅读中的道理。重点在:“你要找做得比她好的人当众表扬,这样会引起他的注意反而能改进他的行为。”要反复突出这句话,例子要能说明这句话。

      动物用两种barrier,来跟其他动物竞争食物。



      一个是chemical,当蚂蚁发现一种食物,他得离开一会叫其他蚂蚁来帮忙,所以他释放一种chemical在这个食物上,其他动物无法忍受这个味道,所以他们不会想吃。



      二是physical,另外一种蚂蚁搬一些littlestone围住食物,所以block其他动物,则其他动物吃不到这些食物。
