TASK 1
Some universities are located in small towns or rural areas. Can you talk about the advantage and/or disadvantage of placing a university in such a place?
Sample response
In my view, the most remarkable advantage is that this can help students save money. If the university is located at such a place, maybe the university is far away from shopping malls or recreational centers, then in the spare time students are less likely to go off campus to spend money on various movies, bars, delicious foods and elegant restaurants, new clothes and shoes and so on.
However, if the university is located at the city center, you can imagine, after schools students tend to hang out in bars, eating in restaurants or singing in KTVs and so forth, then money will be spent or even wasted to some extent.
TASK 2
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement that it is very important to allow kids to use computers or other electronic devices as early as possible. Give your specific explanation in your response.
Sample response
I think children should be encouraged to used electronic devices as early as possible.
For one thing, this may help them learn more knowledge. Frankly speaking, parents’ knowledge is limited to some extent, while kids are eager to know the world. So if kids know how to use computers, how to search information from Google or Wikipedia, they may get to know many useful things.
For another thing, this may help them live more independently. By learning to use cellphone and various apps, kids may know how to order meals when they are hungry, how to buy clothes and shoes from on-line stores and so on, which is beneficial to their life and growth.

What is the most useful action for people to improve the environment in their local community?
1. plant trees and create parks
2. persuade local shops to stop providing plastic bags for consumers
3. increase access to public transportation(such as buses and trains) and reduce automobiles on roads
又是三选一…随便选呗。比如我选第三个。
sp 1.目前在我的city，空气污染其实很严重（例子刻画一下怎么严重），然后其中一个major reason就是车太多了car exhaust也就很多。而同时我们的公共交通系统还没那么发达。那么如果public transportation 可以更多更发达更方便的话，大家就可以happily take the public transportation，于是其实环境污染的问题就能挺大程度被控制的啦。
sp 2.plant trees and create parks 听起来挺不错的，但是太理想化啦。我的城市尤其我的community的空间基本已经被利用了，再要开辟出来做其他的使用真的很困难。
sp 3. plastic bags 其实在我的community 并不是一个major concern. 政府在08年的时候就已经限制了Plastic bags的使用了，所以stop providing其实对我目前在的community 影响不大。
